Pippa Middleton completes ski challenge in Sweden raising funds for UK charity
Pippa Middleton has completed her Swedish ski challenge for UK charity, Magic Breakfast, in good time…
Pippa Middleton has raised more than £9,000 for the charity Magic Breakfast that provides free breakfasts for deprived school kids across the UK.
The Duchess of Cambridge's sister Pippa and her brother James Middleton completed the Vasaloppet 90 km ski race along with 15,800 other participants on Sunday.
The 28-year-old sister of Kate Middleton finished the race in seven hours and 13 minutes… finishing 412th in the women's category, a decent finish… while brother James Middleton finished in six hours and 47 minutes.
The tough ski race event is one of the oldest and biggest of its type, first taking place in 1922... The socialite had never taken part in such a race before.
Pippa Middleton was in familiar company, however, with many royals attending the race including HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and HRH Prince Carl Philip of Sweden.
Pippa Middleton is no stranger to fundraising either having previously raised funds for the charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, which supports breast cancer awareness and research.
The sister of Kate Middleton became well known when she attracted a fair share of the limelight at the wedding of the Duchess of Cambridge to Prince William last year…
Pippa Middleton's chosen charity for her Swedish ski trek Magic Breakfast has also received support for its approach from a number of other sources, including from the UK government in the form of a Big Society award.
The charity has been making waves for helping youngsters in a very practical way.
No wonder Pippa Middleton chose the charity Magic Breakfast - it also gets results - recent research identifying its school programmes leading to 88 per cent improvements in school attendance and attainment, and a huge 91 per cent improvement in child energy and concentration…

News - EAST AFRICA: Super heroes
Superman and Wonder Woman need you to help save lives in East Africa...
The iconography and motifs of DC's American comics cannot be underestimated, etched in the popular culture of America and across the world, providing powerful symbolism of the benefits of knowing what's right and wrong...
The iconography and motifs of DC's American comics cannot be underestimated, etched in the popular culture of America and across the world, providing powerful symbolism of the benefits of knowing what's right and wrong...
The underlying message of the comic books is about being proactive about doing good. And the original stories deploy surprisingly intricate narratives, characterisations and visual imagery which reflect real life moralities.
Many of the comic book heroes of course have benefited from major film and TV franchises. The ultimate message is that the world needs heroes...
Bearing that in mind, why not join Superman and Wonder Woman and support DC Entertainment's campaign to save lives in East Africa?
DC Entertainment, best known for the DC Comics publications that created characters such as Superman, Batman and many others has announced a major giving and awareness campaign to fight the on-going hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa.
DC's We Can Be Heroes campaign will assist Save the Children, International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps. The promotional campaign features the world-famous range of comic book super heroes...These include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg, all of whom are issuing a plea to tackle the devastating hunger in East Africa.
The We Can Be Heroes campaign is backed by a multi-million-dollar investment that will include advertising aimed at generating awareness across major media platforms.
Also the charities Save the Children, International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps will equally share a corporate donation of at least $2 million over the next two years, comprised of cash donations, employee matching funds and consumer matching funds from DC Entertainment and its partners.
The collection of Justice League characters to front the campaign were chosen by DC Entertainment for their global recognition plus the added theme of having strength in numbers. The campaign's heroes are banding together as the Justice League, to become an unstoppable force for good and right in the universe...
It's true that through collaboration and determination often the most terrible challenges can be overcome.
The current situation in East Africa remains critical… with Save the Children indicating around a quarter of a million people are facing starvation this year. And the facts remain that those facing a life or death struggle in the world through no fault of their own need heroes today, tomorrow and probably long into the future...
